The Radiology/Cardiology MRI Technologist is responsible for performing advanced MRI procedures across various body regions including abdomen pelvis head/neck chest spine and musculoskeletal systems. The role requires proficiency in specialized imaging techniques such as diffusion gradient echo spectroscopy and image post-processing. The technologist will work independently during night shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment serving adolescent adult and geriatric patients while utilizing Siemens and GE MRI equipment and hospital systems like EPIC and Visage.
Responsibilities:
Perform MRI procedures including abdomen pelvis head/neck chest spine musculoskeletal and specialized sequences such as diffusion and spectroscopy.
Operate Siemens (Avanto and Sola) and GE Premier MRI machines ensuring competency on both systems.
Conduct image post-processing tasks including maximum intensity projection (MIP) and multiplanar reconstruction (MPR).
Manage daily caseload of approximately 40 patients across three MRI rooms.
Work independently during assigned night shifts ensuring quality imaging and patient safety.
Collaborate with clinical staff to support inpatient outpatient ER and ICU imaging needs.
Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC and Visage PACS systems.
Adhere to all safety and procedural protocols including use of contrast agents when required.
Wear designated royal blue scrubs during shifts.
Required Skills & Certifications:
Minimum of 2 years MRI technologist experience.
Certification by ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR).
Current BLS certification.
Proficiency with MRI procedures including advanced imaging techniques and post-processing.
Experience with Siemens Avanto and Sola and GE Premier MRI systems.
Familiarity with hospital information systems EPIC and Visage PACS.
Ability to work independently in a clinical setting.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Experience working in diverse settings including outpatient inpatient ER community hospital and adult ICU environments.
Prior experience as a traveler technologist is accepted but not required.
Special Considerations:
Return to Office (RTO) after booking is prohibited and cannot be worked onsite.
Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and Do Not Rehire (DNR) status.
No call or float requirements.
Technologist works independently on third shift with occasional operations assistant support which is not guaranteed.
Must be competent on both Siemens and GE MRI equipment.
Patient age groups served include adolescents adults and geriatrics.
Scheduling:
36-hour shifts only scheduled Wednesday through Friday from 17:00 to 05:30.
Shift pattern consists of three consecutive 12-hour night shifts per week.
Contracts offered for 13 weeks duration.
