Job Summary

Connoisseur Mediais seeking a talented motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our programming department in our Anchorage Alaska market location. This will be a paid Internship through the Alaska Broadcasters Association. This internship will provide hands-on experience in radio broadcasting news production and learning how to work with a team. You will be helping out in the Programming Department with news and operations on all seven stations in the market location.

What You Will Learn:

Prize setup and distribution.
General Administrative duties.
Produce and edit audio programming segments.
Write and post information to station websites and social media platforms.
Understand procedures in case of a computer crash or loss of broadcast signal.
Communication procedures in the event of any concerns issues or problems with the broadcast.

Exposure to the inner workings of a radio station.

Responsibilities of this position may include:

Assisting in the production of news content for on-air and online distribution.
Monitoring breaking news and updating coverage as needed.
Recording hourly newscasts.
Engage with listeners via social media and at events.
Other duties as assigned by the Business or Operations Manager.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
Public speaking skills and the ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
Ability to multitask and handle pressures and deadlines.
Be a positive member of a tight-knit team.
Must be creative and innovative with a strong work ethic.
