The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) isseekingan organized professional and results oriented individual to serve asa Quarterly Census of Employment & WagesAnalyst.TheQCEW program is a Federal-State data cooperative charged with the collection verification and publication of a quarterly count of employment and wages for more than 95% of U.S. jobs providing a vital benchmark for other Illinois and federal programs.Responsibilities includethe analysisinterpretation review and coding of worksite records univariate statistical analysis on data variancesandcorrection oferroneousdatabased ontelephone follow-upwith employers and other best practices.This position providesa great opportunityfor someone who has a strong knowledge ofstatistical techniquesand is dedicated todeterminingthe validity and accuracyof data.The ideal candidate for this position will haveexperienceperformingstatistical analysisof data variances and resolving data inaccuraciesin accordance withfederal reporting requirements. • Under direct supervision serves as a Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages(QCEW)Analyst for the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES)
• Assistsindeterminingthe accuracyand validityof reported employment and wage information including but not limited to industryareaand auxiliary status codes of Labor Statistics(BLS)reportingrequirements including but not limited toMultiple Worksite Report (MWR)requirements
• Analyzes and interprets private and government employer information classifying information by geographic area and type of business activity
• Confers with supervisor todetermine assignment of coding and data input duties
• Establishes andmaintainsrecordson worksite employersfordataincludingbut not limited toemployment and wagesarea and industry codes for each worksite
• Keeps abreast of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages (QCEW) program policiesrequirementsand best practices
• Performs other duties asrequiredor assigned which arereasonably withinthe scope of the dutiesenumerated above

• Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with courses in statistics computer science mathematics economics and related fields

• Requiresan Illinois State Police background check and self-disclosure of any criminal history
• Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays asappropriate
• This position is considered sedentary work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(a)). Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and requires occasional lifting carrying walking and standing
• Requires ability to attend seminars conferences and trainings to stay current on methods tools ideologies or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties
