Quantitative Associate (Custom Income Strategies)

About the RoleThe CIS Associate reports to the Director of the Custom Income Strategies (CIS) team and assists portfolio managers on the team in day-to-day portfolio the TeamCIS is an investment team within Loomis Sayles & Company that is dedicated to managing complex customized fixed income mandates across insurance pensions and retail. The team is based in Boston MA and is comprised of 8 individuals including the head of CIS one portfolio manager two associate portfolio managers one strategist two senior analysts and one investment ResponsibilitiesWork as an integral member of the CIS team on portfolio management tasksEmploy and enhance portfolio construction tools to create model portfolios in close collaboration with portfolio managers and strategists across investment teamsHelp to monitor and run risk/attribution analysis on accounts and assist with the preparation of materials for various internal and external meetingsCarry out special projects on an as-needed basisEnhance or customize data reports used in portfolio management processContribute to achieve teams objective of delivering high quality work in a collegial work environmentQualifications & Education RequirementsBS in Computer Science Computational Finance Engineering or degree in a quantitatively driven and technical field 24 years of work experience in related fields desirable; but will strongly consider relevant internship experience and/or Masters degree in a relevant field Strong interest in financial markets and investment management industry Strong technical problem solving and programming skills are required. Expertise in Python SQL VBA Excel requiredExcellent communication skillsSelf-driven highly accountable resourceful and independent thinker; Curious and entrepreneurial mindsetAdditional RequirementsThe position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $70000 - $100000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience skills qualifications and local benchmarking.
