Job Summary

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for supporting and maintaining the quality management system within a manufacturing environment. This role oversees quality inspectors auditors inspection activities internal audits corrective actions quality documentation training scrap analysis and compliance with company customer ISO and regulatory requirements.

The Quality Supervisor will work closely with production operations engineering maintenance suppliers and plant leadership to ensure products meet quality standards processes are followed defects are identified and corrected and continuous improvement efforts are implemented throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise train schedule and support quality inspectors auditors and quality team members to meet production and quality requirements.

Coordinate incoming inspection activities to ensure materials components and supplier products meet required specifications.

Issue track and follow up on supplier corrective actions for defective or nonconforming material.

Support and maintain the facilitys quality management system in accordance with company customer ISO and applicable regulatory requirements.

Schedule conduct and administer internal quality system audits to ensure compliance with quality system standards.

Perform internal audits according to ISO API customer and internal quality requirements as applicable.

Document audit findings nonconformances corrective actions and follow-up activities.

Coordinate support and close external quality management system audits as required.

Conduct and report results of document reviews quality reviews and process audits.

Review scrap reports inspection data rejections and quality trends to identify process issues and support scrap reduction efforts.

Partner with production and plant leadership to identify quality concerns root causes and corrective actions.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality deficiencies and improve process performance.

Develop and maintain appropriate training materials for production and quality associates.

Maintain individual training records and department training matrices.

Support operations with production reporting quality reporting scrap analysis inspection coverage and proper staffing of inspectors.

Communicate with shop floor personnel regarding quality procedures inspection requirements process standards and corrective actions.

Recommend safety improvements quality improvements process changes and alternative products or methods as appropriate.

Review and approve quality and safety aspects of new chemicals products processes or materials prior to introduction into the facility when required.

Prepare quality and safety reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing data trends findings and corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with federal state local company and customer safety and quality requirements.

Promote a culture of safety quality accountability continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

Previous experience in quality supervision quality assurance quality control manufacturing supervision or related manufacturing leadership role preferred.

Experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 API or other quality management systems preferred.

Certified ISO Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of quality control test procedures inspection methods auditing practices corrective actions and documentation control.

Experience conducting internal audits document reviews supplier corrective actions nonconformance reporting and root cause investigations.

Ability to read and interpret specifications quality standards inspection procedures work instructions and manufacturing documentation.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with production employees quality teams supervisors suppliers and plant leadership.

Experience with scrap analysis quality reporting production support and continuous improvement initiatives.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and related documentation/reporting systems.

ERP SAP quality management software or manufacturing system experience preferred.
