Job Description


JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for verifying that product conforms to internal specifications customer requirements and applicable codes and standards. Verification will be performed with the use of various measuring instruments and through the interpretation of NDE results.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs thread gauging as required using various measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers MRP gauges optical comparator etc.
Coordination of NDE activities including scheduling inspections reviewing NDE documentation distributing NDE reports as required maintaining NDE documentation and vendor qualification records.
Maintaining quality records including inspection reports calibration records subcontractor inspection reports etc.
Verify supplier activities including receiving inspections vendor documentation reviews off-site inspections and vendor audits.
Maintain control of measuring and test equipment including purchasing equipment assigning serial numbers assigning calibration frequencies maintaining recall system performing in-house calibrations and coordinating outside calibrations.
Perform procedure audits and assist in quality audits (external and internal) as required.
Act as company liaison for quality activities with customer third party inspectors as required.
Other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS



High School Diploma or GED required.
Two years of experience in a quality assurance program or relevant QC experience.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ability to interpret results from quality inspections.
Ability to use basic measuring instruments (ruler caliper micrometer etc.).
Ability to do extensive walking bending/stooping and moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
Ability to stand and work in adverse conditions (outdoors in all types of weather manufacturing environment).
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

Responsible for adhering to all HSE policies and procedures of NOV/XL Systems to maintain and promote a safe healthy and pollution-free working environment.
Must be able to execute duties without immediate supervision.
