The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Quality Manager to support the Space Mission Systems Quality team in El Segundo CA!
Join our fast-paced El Segundo Satellite (ESS) production team as 2nd-shift First Line Quality Manager where youll lead frontline inspectors and quality personnel tackle production issues hands-on and drive on-time safe delivery through collaborative process control and continuous improvement. Successful candidates will have experience working with cross functional partners union-represented employees be able to achieve timely resolution of production issues to meet schedule and safety targets and proven ability to navigate and resolve complex workplace conflicts under tight deadlines.
This position will require the ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment with strict deadlines while fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages Union employees performing quality inspection and technical activities on or in support of programs through all phases of the product lifecycle
Collaborates closely with manufacturing test and engineering to implement corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.
Provides education and coaching on the Quality System
Acquires and manages resources provides quality technical management and leads performance improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners suppliers and direct reports
Oversees review of technical information to ensure quality and producibility
Manages develops and motivates employees
Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Candidates must have at least one year of leadership experience (team leader temp manager large scale cross functional project/program management or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership.
More than 3 years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
More than 3 years of experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci)
Experience developing or working with compliance processes and/or controls
Experience working with bargaining unit/hourly union employees
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelors Degree or higher
More than 1 year of experience with team building developing and motivating employees
More than 1 year of experience leading key process quality and continuous improvement initiatives
