How Youll Help Transform Healthcare:
The Manager Quality provides leadership and oversight for enterprise quality improvement initiatives and performance measurement programs that support organizational strategic goals regulatory requirements accreditation standards and value-based care objectives. The role is responsible for planning implementing monitoring and evaluating quality improvement initiatives that enhance clinical operational and patient experience outcomes.

Working collaboratively with organizational leaders physicians and interdisciplinary teams the Quality Manager establishes quality improvement priorities develops project plans monitors performance metrics and facilitates sustainable process improvement efforts using evidence-based methodologies. The position is accountable for leading assigned staff fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving measurable improvements through data analysis project management and performance optimization.

The Quality Manager maintains accountability for human resource management operational oversight financial stewardship and continuous quality improvement activities. This position serves as a visible leader throughout the organization and promotes a culture of safety quality and service excellence.

The Manager Quality

Leads and manages quality improvement initiatives aligned with organizational strategic priorities regulatory requirements accreditation standards and value-based care objectives.

Develops implements and monitors quality improvement plans project charters timelines and performance measures to achieve organizational goals.

Collaborates with clinical operational physician and executive leadership to identify priorities remove barriers and improve organizational performance.

Utilizes data analytics benchmarking and performance reporting to identify opportunities for improvement and support evidence-based decision making.

Oversees quality performance dashboards and communicates progress outcomes risks and recommendations to organizational leadership.

Applies quality improvement methodologies project management principles and change management strategies to improve clinical and operational processes.

Prioritizes improvement initiatives based on organizational impact strategic alignment regulatory requirements and available resources.

Facilitates interdisciplinary teams to achieve measurable improvements in quality safety patient experience and operational efficiency.

Monitors compliance with applicable regulatory accreditation and organizational quality standards.

Supervises assigned staff including hiring coaching performance management professional development and succession planning.

Promotes a culture of accountability collaboration continuous improvement and service excellence.

Participates in organizational committees workgroups and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Maintains current knowledge of healthcare quality patient safety regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

What We Require:

Education: Bachelors Degree healthcare administration management or a healthcare related field required or equivalent 8 years of related experience. Masters degree preferred


Experience: Five (5) years of progressive healthcare experience in quality improvement patient safety performance improvement project management healthcare operations or a related field. Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and managing complex organizational initiatives. Experience analyzing healthcare data and translating findings into actionable improvement strategies.


Licensure Certification and/or Registration: Certification(s) in healthcare quality process improvement and project management strongly desired


Other Minimum Qualifications: Proven track record of collaborative execution demonstrating the development of and sustainment of excellent cross-functional relationships at multiple levels across a large organization Must possess a proven record of building trust with stakeholders and an excellent communication style that is highly articulate making written and verbal arguments in a compelling manner. Experience with driving results through translation of the overall objectives of the organization into actionable quantitative plans with a demonstrated ability to successfully overcome obstacles to analytical skills to assist leadership in learning new ways to manage outcomes using evidence-based communication skills and ability to translate program messaging dependent upon the audience. Strong presentation skills to formulate and present opportunities timelines and expected outcomesAdvanced leadership planning and organizational skills to direct the successful completion of initiatives and achievement of fiscal goals. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication abilities to support and promote a respectful inclusive culture of service excellence. Proven skills in clinical operational and human resource management including staffing planning performance management teamwork and process improvement. Statistical analysis and fiscal management skills. Must satisfactorily complete orientation processes for Carilion Clinic and for Director Quality and Patient Safety position. Must display positive leadership skills interpersonal & oral communication skills and written communication skills. Must work well with all members of the Community hospital teams including employees managers administrators and physicians. Must understand dynamics of and be able to work effectively within a matrix management environment. Must possess analytic business skills integrity as a team player; be courteous; have ability to resolve complaints/problems; and display a customer-focused philosophy of service. Must demonstrate skills in operational and human resources management.

Compensation Range:

$89232.00 - $142771.20

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications credentials education and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
