Quality Inspector

Waldens Machine was founded in 1976 by Charlie Walden. Primus purchased Waldens in 2006 and PCC purchased Primus in 2011. The Company offers a complete range of products and services including high speed machining (3 4 & 5 axis medium/complex aluminum and hard metal machining) kitting assembly and integration decorative coatings airfoil/propulsion structures specialist and global supply chain management. Waldens is a 24 hour facility and is staffed with 340 employees.

Some of their well-known customers included but are not limited to Boeing Bombardier Spirit Aerosystems Bell Helicopter Airbus and GE Aviation. The Company is fully certified for IS0 9001 and hold Revision C registration for AS9100.

Position Summary:

Level One Level One: At the direction of the Quality manager level one quality inspectors train to develop the ability to use predetermined methods operations setups and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspection of products such as machined parts mechanical assemblies processed parts and purchased standard hardware. They also perform verifications of part identification and configurations. Level one quality inspectors will arrange inspection queues to identify priority addition they will identify and segregate non-conforming product using basic knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing methods per ASME 14.5 and common inspection measuring equipment including but not limited to surface plates micrometers height gages radius gages protractors profilometers bore gauges and dial indicators as necessary to complete assignments. Level one quality inspectors will demonstrate blueprint reading and basic math skills basic PC skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to use MRP or ERP systems after instruction. Typically 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• With assistance perform in process and completed inspections for machined purchased or assembled product.
• Organize incoming inspection work by identifying work priority.
• Identify and separate non-conforming product from conforming product.

Required Skills:

Basic proficiency in shop math and GD&T comprehension and application.

• Basic print reading and application.
• A familiarity with a wide range of inspection tools and processes.
• Basic computer and software literacy. (MS Suite File Navigation)

Required Experience:

• This position is an entry level position and offers training opportunities. However experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Typically 0-1 years of experience

Level of Education:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
