The Quality Engineer will beresponsible for providing leadership in the areas of product quality for commercialrequirements of compression molded and assembled proprietary products. Theincumbent will support Compression Molding Seat Operations manage and improvethe quality system.

The incumbent will live thecorporate values of treating people with dignity and respect practicingleadership driving continuous improvement acting with a sense of urgencypromoting innovation fighting for consensus and managing through teams.

Specific Responsibilities:
*Translate the commercial requirements into methods and procedures for process control process improvement testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
*Create/maintain performance reports for quality and scrap-related metrics; help identify problem products/processes work with problem-solving teams.
*Have a good understanding of product standards requirements and test methods for materials and finished products; develop supporting procedures and records.
*Work with production managers in all decisions relating to product quality / acceptability.
*Develop good relationships with key suppliers of wood resin paint and vinyl components.
*Act as liaison between manufacturing and internal/external suppliers and customers.
*Prepare customer-specific quality documentationPPAPs Corrective/Preventive Action Product Certifications etc.
*Respond to customer complaints and rejects. Coordinate containment communication corrective action as needed. Lead corrective and preventative actions for Thermoset Proprietary Seats.
*Communicate customer returns / quality concerns to manufacturing floor employees and Production Management.
*Evaluate new/existing materials and sources.
*Coordinate testing for new and revised tooling and production materials.
*Maintain procedures and records up to date and preserve historical data for quality and production measurables.
*Support/assist gauge calibration function and activities of the Color Team.
*Participate in continuous improvement efforts specifically those related to compression molding. Use and promote the use of statistics and other analytical tools for evaluating and improving product quality.
*Oversee the activity of the Particle Reduction Lab Technician in quality-related lab work.
*Manage and improve the systems and procedures to ensure proper tolerances for new and existing color.
*Act as Thermoset representative for customer audits and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification


Skills & Qualifications:
*Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline; or equivalent mix of education and experience.
*3-5 years of experience in Quality in a manufacturing environment.
*Experience dealing with compression molding processes beneficial.
*Strong problem-solving disciplines and analytical skills.
*Proactive and takes action without being prompted.
*Communication ability to present information and work effectively with cross-functional work groups including suppliers customers and associates both verbally and in writing.
*Experience with other quality software applications beneficial (e.g. statistical analysis).
*Strong computer literacy.
*Strong organizational/project management skills a plus.
