The Operations Quality Engineer ensures that hardware products and test equipment comply with all quality contractual and regulatory requirements within established schedule and cost constraints. The role supports airborne programs by resolving fabrication issues including defects troubleshooting teardowns hardware re-installations testing and unit acceptance.

What You Will Do

• Use critical thinking resources and methods to improve material processing; minimize inspection; resolve manufacturing defects/problems
• Conduct timely identification segregation disposition correction and closure of nonconforming material
• Coordinate with cross-functional roles such as Engineering Manufacturing Technicians and Production Control to identify trends and resolve nonconforming material
• Act on all applicable material product and equipment alerts to prevent impact to product reliability using the nonconformance and/or purge process
• Complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation analyses and reporting.
• Perform product and process audits for compliance to various standards and product requirements.
• Support Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis on processes and products to prevent product defects and mitigate risk
• Lead and support root cause and corrective action activities
• Support hardware quality drawing & design reviews
• Support program corporate and third-party audits
• Manage dropped and damaged hardware processing and incident reporting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint and Project).

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Math Science or Technology or other STEM related field of study two (2) years of experience in the field of quality operations or manufacturing engineering
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management systems.
• Experience with technical procedures specifications standards and other engineering and manufacturing documents.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (AS9145).
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members customers and suppliers
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision-making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention
• Perform autonomous self-guided process and product assessments root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action
• Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
• Familiar with Six Sigma methodologies e.g. Kaizen Lean Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control (DMAIC) and Define/Measure/Analyze/Design/Verify (DMADV) and resources e.g. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Statistical Process Control (SPC) Capability Analysis Design of Experiments (DOE) and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
• Experience with GD&T Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing measurement resources and practices.
• Experience working in an aerospace-related manufacturing environment or with airborne related products
• Familiarity with Project Management techniques
• ActiveSecret Clearance or higher

The salary range for this role is 75800 USD - 144200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
