At Brooks Automation quality of our products and processes is our primary focus to enhance our customer Quality Engineer plays a vital role in driving our zero-defect focus culture by developing and implementing quality plans metrics programs and procedures using quality control statistics LEAN manufacturing concepts and analysis. The Quality Engineer ensures that performance and product quality from Brooks Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturers conforms to established company customer and regulatory requirements and works collaboratively with all Brooks cross-functional teams to drive these requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Quality at Brooks is owned by all functions but the Quality Engineer is an ambassador for quality across the role requires an individual who is collaborative and capable of driving results across the company with a team and customer focus.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Serves as the Quality lead and interface for products built at Brooks and at our contract the development modification and maintenance of quality evaluation control plans and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
Manages assigned product failure analysis report generation and presents to our customers.
Leads problem solving teams utilizing 8D methodology 5 WHYs and fishbones etc.
Leads cross functional team Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to drive performance improvements.
Assists in the process for ensuring that corrective actions (CAPA) are completed in accordance with relevant ISO requirements (ISO 9001) Advance Problem-Solving methods and that documentation is complete and compliant with requirements.
Conducts Data Analysis and prepares metrics detailing field product quality.
Manages quality data for accuracy and report generation.
Collect treat and interpret data analyze results using statistical techniques.
Identify analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Works with staff as necessary to enhance data capture and analysis in support of internal and external quality improvement and reporting efforts.
Serves as a resource for aggregating analyzing and displaying statistically oriented data.
Leads quality meetings with Brooks Manufacturing or contract manufacturing where applicable.
Supports factory process certification activities for new product introductions (NPI process).
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Customer facing skills:
Must be confident in front of our customers during escalations have the ability to clearly communicate our recovery plans and long-term corrective actions. Must be able to understand their requirements on a technical level.
May specialize in the areas of design incoming material production control product evaluation and reliability inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed and the requirements of the department/position.
WHAT YOULL BRING:
B.S. in a technical discipline with a minimum of 8 years of professional work experience as a Quality Engineer.
M.S. in a technical discipline with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience is a plus.
Ability to demonstrate the application and appropriate use of statistical methods and tools (some examples are D.O.E Hypothesis Testing ANOVA Gauge R&R Statistical Process Control Capability analysis etc.).
Strong analytical ability and high level of proficiency using Microsoft 365.
Willingness to travel up to 10/15% both Domestically and Internationally.
Ability to work independently and have the scheduling flexibility necessary to support an international contract manufacturing factory teams and customers.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting semiconductor manufacturing related to capital equipment is a plus.
Prior copy exact experience is a plus.
Certification in Quality Engineering / Auditing / Improvement Six Sigma Project Management or LEAN is a plus.
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $98769.66 USD to $133629.54 USDFactors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market skills education experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
