Quality EngineerAmphenol Industrial OperationsReports To: Quality ManagerJob Description Summary:The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day quality initiatives within manufacturing operations to ensure product conformity process control and customer satisfaction. This position works closely with Manufacturing Engineering Supply Chain and Operations teams to identify and resolve quality issues reduce defects improve process capability and drive continuous improvement efforts. The Quality Engineer serves as a key resource in root cause analysis corrective action implementation audit support and ongoing monitoring of quality performance across automated assembly CNC machining and progressive stamping operations. Investigate nonconforming material customer complaints internal rejects scrap and rework issues using structured problem-solving techniques. Lead and facilitate root cause analysis activities utilizing tools such as 8D 5 Why Fishbone PFMEA and statistical analysis methods. Develop implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure sustainable solutions. Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve process capability reduce variation and eliminate recurring defects. Maintain and update control plans inspection plans process flow diagrams PFMEAs and quality procedures. Analyze quality metrics including DPPM first-pass yield scrap rework and customer returns to identify trends and improvement in new product introduction activities by supporting risk assessments process validations capability studies and inspection process audits product audits and layered audits to verify compliance and process customer and third-party audits and assist in addressing audit findings and corrective engineering changes and manufacturing process changes to assess quality risks and ensure adequate controls are with Supplier Quality and Purchasing teams to address supplier-related quality concerns and improve incoming material in calibration gauge control and measurement system analysis (MSA) and maintain quality reports dashboards and KPI metrics for management quality training and guidance to manufacturing personnel as continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality cost reduction productivity and customer - Education/Experience:Bachelors Degree in Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering Quality Engineering or a related technical discipline.3-5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing supporting production quality improvement and corrective action knowledge of ISO 9001 quality with root cause analysis and problem-solving to interpret engineering drawings specifications GD&T and customer with Microsoft Office particularly Excel for data analytical communication and organizational Quality Engineer (CQE) or other ASQ in connector manufacturing machining stamping or automated assembly with PFMEA Control Plans APQP SPC and Manufacturing or Six Sigma utilizing quality management and ERP manufacturing or quality engineering experience including familiarity with automotive quality requirements and customer-specific -flow high volume production experience focused on process capability defect prevention and rapid resolution of production problem-solving and analytical to effectively communicate quality concerns and improvement opportunities across all levels of the of statistical process control and process capability to lead cross-functional corrective action -oriented with strong organizational and time management to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing written and verbal communication with measurement equipment including calipers micrometers optical comparators vision systems CMMs and related inspection Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
