Focusing on data-driven decision-making our department is committed to ensuring data integrity that involves exploring innovative ways of datautilizationidentifyingtrends in processes and improving systems to make working with data more efficient.The department exemplifieshigh standards collaboration education and process improvement to support a culture of inquiry ensuring the development of BestPractice.

Job Summary:

Assists in the development implementation and evaluation of the Hospitals overall quality and patient safety program. This position is accountable for: 1) supporting the organizations performance improvement process; 2) providing stewardship for the medical staff nursing and other clinical professional peer review processes; and 3) identifying performance trends as well as prioritizing and recommending improvements. Investigates specific areas of concern as identified by leadership. Provides consultation and assistance to medical administrative and other staff on peer review performance improvement and other quality of care issues; translates data into actionable information; and participates with the customer experience process for monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and services provided to patients and families. Plays a role in the identification of trends formulating conclusions and making recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

This is a hybrid position. Following successful completion of orientation and achievement of independent practicetypically at approximately six months of employmentthe selected candidate may have the opportunity to work remotely 12 days per week based on business needs and department approval. Regular onsite presence is required for meetings education collaboration and trauma program activities. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility.


Education

  • College Degree - 2 year related field (required)
  • College Degree - 4 year (preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
  • CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality - NAHQ - National Association for Healthcare Quality (preferred)


Work Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years progressively responsible experience (required)
  • Minimum five (5) years related field (required)
  • Minimum four (4) years recent experience or knowledge of healthcare regulations including TJC Title XXII and other regulatory standards. (required)


Skills and Abilities

  • Computer Skills Demonstrated progressive computer and presentation skills.
  • Performance improvement and quality management experience are a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level clinical problem-solving and critical thinking skills are a must.
