The California High-Speed Rail Authoritys Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in Californias Central Valley.

The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway / railroad grade separations two mainline viaducts one tunnel realignments of existing railroad tracks utility relocations roadway relocations two trench sections and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River.

Description:

• Inspect to contract specifications the quality of concrete mix designs construction submittals testing procedures etc.

• Inspect concrete steel reinforcement and form work on bridge decks beams box culverts columns footings utilities and roadways.

• Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program company standards procedures codes etc. required to perform assigned work.

• Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.

• Assist in maintaining work performance records inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.

• Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures i.e. inspection instructions control measuring and test equipment etc.

• Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.

• Participate in internal/external quality control audits.

• Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.

• Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED certification

• 5 or more years of experience in support of heavy civil construction testing inspection supervision or management in support of large public works projects.

• Experienced with U.S. construction standards and codes

• An understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance (preferred)

• Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred)

• ACI or other industry related certifications (preferred)
