Job Summary:
The Quality Bench Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of a variety of components assemblies and subassemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings specifications customer requirements and industry standards. This role supports production and maintenance teams by identifying non-conformances and ensuring only quality products move forward in the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on parts using precision instruments such as calipers micrometers height gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Review engineering drawings blueprints and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Identify document and report non-conformances; participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Ensure parts conform tocustomer-specific quality standards.
- Conduct in-process first article and final inspections as needed.
- Maintain inspection tools and ensure calibration records are up to date.
- Collaborate with production engineering and quality assurance teams to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure a clean and organized inspection area compliant with safety and 5S principles.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands on quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 ISO 9001 and other aerospace quality standards.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems and inspection software (e.g. Microsoft Excel ERP/QMS systems).
Preferred:
- CMM operation/programming experience helpful but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed at an inspection bench or work table in a manufacturing or repair facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/sit for extended periods.
- May be exposed to oils solvents and moderate noise.
