What you will be doing
As a Flex Shift Quality Assurance Lab Tech at our milk plant youll be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products. Your duties will include conducting inspections of raw materials monitoring production processes and performing various tests to verify compliance with quality standards. Youll also be tasked with documenting findings reporting any issues and implementing corrective actions as needed. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will play a crucial role in improving our reputation for delivering top-quality milk products to our customers.
The position will be based in Denver CO. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $ 27.00 to $29.00 per hour. Main responsibilities
Conduct quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished milk products.
Perform regular inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Monitor and document equipment calibration and maintenance.
Collaborate with production teams to address any quality-related issues promptly.
Evaluate trends from test results and communicate these trends to employees and management.
Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Food Safety and regulatory compliance.
Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits as needed.
Record and analyze data and prepare reports on quality metrics. Ensure that daily records are kept and maintained.
Drive continuous improvement assist in the discipline to maintain a 6-S rating of an A.
Follow-up customer complaints and follow-up with production.
Implement quality control processes/testing to meet the expectations of Safeway quality standards and ensure that the product(s) are within specification.
Any other project assigned.
What we are searching for.
We are looking for candidates with at least 1 year of QA experience. Food manufacturing experience is preferred; however candidates with microbiology or chemical laboratory experience are also acceptable. Please note that this is a hands-on QA/QC position involving both lab work and production floor activities.
Bachelors degree preferably. High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional relevant certifications are a plus.
Strong mindfulness and analytical skills.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and regulations preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication and documentation skills.
Flexibility to work the specified shift and occasionally on weekends if required.
Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
Able to multi-task in fast paced environment with limited supervision.
Proficient in window-based PC programs.
Lab Test Equipment/Maintenance preferred.
Some knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety preferred.
Hours -Flex- Depending on production demand.
