The WCD Vandalia Plant is looking to fill an opening for a Quality Assurance Supervisor. This position is to assist and support the Quality Manager in various Quality the condition of raw materials before and during production and finished products after they are manufactured to ensure they meet White Castle USDA and FDA position will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Control Program to ensure finished products meet specifications. Incumbent will give guidance direction and training to all Team Members with regard to quality food safety HACCP Food Defense SQF and GMP requirements.

• Bachelors or Associate degree in food science Biology Microbiology or equivalent work experience is preferred;

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in production methods and root cause analysis preferred; andA1

• Must have strong knowledge of SQF FDA and USDA Regulations and Directives HACCP SOPs and GMPs;

• Functional knowledge of how all equipment in the quality lab is designed to operate; includes Electronic Scale Electronic Temperature Probe High Pressure Washer Temperature Recorders and Bioluminescence;

• Proficient computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel;

• Strong skills in employee relations communication and teamwork including the ability to give and receive direction and to follow detailed instructions;

• Ability to stay focused and accomplish multiple tasks independently with little supervision and within established timeframes;

• Self-starter and able to anticipate work requirements;

• Possess excellent management & decision-making skills; and

• Ability to successfully complete on-the-job training.

• Selection supervision training and guidance of Quality Team Members;

• Coordination development and supervision of policies and procedures relating to food safety and quality including: GMPs HACCP SSOPs SQF and other programs relating to food quality and safety;

• Perform pre-operational and operational facility inspections to identify problems and offer practical solutions to those problems;

• Perform raw material and finished product inspections and Quality Team Members to perform these functions;

• Maintain and procure inventory of quality sanitation safety and production supplies.

• Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization in a professional manner display a positive demeanor and be responsive to the teams needs; and

• Must be flexible to work hours to meet the needs of the plant including evenings weekends and holidays.

• Ability to work in an environment with occasional exposure to noise heat cold fumes smoke cleaners and other elements;

• Wearing safety gear including safety glasses and other various types of safety gear supplied by the company;

• Frequent periods of standing sitting and walking;

• Frequent pushing pulling and lifting 75 lbs.(unassisted/assisted); and

• Ability to listen comprehend and professionally respond to co-worker inquiries comments and concerns.
