Job Description

Position : QA Engineer
Location : Denver CO Hybrid Local Candidates Only
Duration : Long term contract

Must have IBM DB2 UDB experience

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will ensure the quality of custom-built and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications through manual and automated testing. This role involves developing test strategies creating and executing test cases identifying defects and collaborating closely with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and execute comprehensive test plans test cases and test scripts.
• Perform functional integration regression system and user acceptance testing.
• Identify document and track software defects through resolution.
• Recommend and implement automated testing where appropriate.
• Collaborate with developers business analysts and project teams to ensure software quality.
• Validate COTS and internally developed applications against business requirements.
• Review application documentation to determine testing scope and functionality.
• Participate in deployment validation and production support.
• Communicate testing progress risks and results to stakeholders.
• Support change management and ITSM documentation.
• Provide Tier III application support when required.
• Mentor junior QA analysts through peer reviews and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 3 years of QA/Software Testing experience OR
• 3 years of relevant QA Business Analyst or Software Engineering experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
• Experience writing detailed test plans test cases and executing end-to-end testing.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
• Experience with defect tracking and reporting.
• Excellent analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
