These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects effect expansion of successful pilot programs and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals families and communities across New York Culture:We embrace a culture of learning collaboration innovation and well-being where open communication drives our The Role: The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Equity Unit offers a unique opportunity for a public health professional to engage in a range of impactful initiatives aimed at improving reproductive health outcomes across New York City. This role involves contributing to multiple projects that advance access education and equity. You will play a key role in the Quality Improvement Network for Care Access helping to shape how the New York City Department of Health identifies and addresses barriers to infertility and improves support for individuals and families in low-income neighborhoods navigating challenges with conception. About the Program: The Quality Improvement Network for Care Access (QINCA-2) is a reproductive health program under the Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit (SRHU) part of the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health (BMIRH) in the Division of Family and Child Health within the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) that is focused on the needs of New Yorkers in marginalized communities who wish to create a family and have experienced difficulties in conception. Despite a need for fertility services this care is inaccessible to many due to cost and individuals who lack the financial means to obtain private fertility care in NYC are left with minimal recourse as private fertility providers or networks often do not accept Medicaid and those fortunate enough to have private health insurance receive minimal coverage for infertility concerns. Through QINCA NYCDOHMH aims to review the literature and convene experts in the field of fertility and conception to build clinical capacity strengthen provider confidence and improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities:Provide outreach engage and coordinate the recruitment of primary care clinicians interested in participating in a 12-week training initiative with the goal of incorporating infertility care into their service provision. Organize and schedule convenings educational sessions meetings on reproductive health topics tailored to contraception sexually transmitted infections conception and with the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Equity Unit Evaluation Team to coordinate data collection efforts to measure progress on projects. Maintain accurate records of various project activities prepare periodic progress reports reflecting unit partnering clinics to observe clinic tours/discuss evidence-based program implementation/deliver incentives/educational materials/provide support Visit partnering schools and youth serving organizations to observe evidence-based program implementation. Work with Director/Deputy Director and SRHEU Team to present and disseminate on behalf of QINCA at conferences meetings and other appropriate that all required information is saved on designated shared that all requested information is entered into Partners Connect information tracking system (when applicable). Assist with other duties tasks and special projects as may be required by The New York City Department of Health The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Equity Unit Fund for Public Health in New York. Other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and mission of the department/ organization. Requirements: Masters degree in public health health education or a related fieldA baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in health-related community work or clinical improvement activities Education and or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least two years of experience as described above. Experience working in neighborhoods or communities experiencing health inequities or other forms of social injustice familiarity with social and justice frameworks and approaches. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences and deliver educational presentations. Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when with Microsoft Suite Word PowerPoint. Familiarity with basic computer applications and data collection English and Spanish a plus Physical Requirements: Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
