Location: Gulfport MS (fully onsite; relocation required)
Pay: $28.00$35.00/hour
Were looking for experienced QC Microbiologists to join a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory supporting the manufacture of human and veterinary drug products. This hands-on position involves microbiological testing of raw materials in-process materials finished products environmental samples and stability samples. Strong attention to detail sound microbiological technique and familiarity with cGMP practices are essential.
- Perform routine microbiological testing on raw materials in-process materials finished products stability samples water and other samples
- Conduct environmental monitoring including sampling testing documentation and interpretation of results
- Perform microbial enumeration microbial limits bioburden and other required assays
- Prepare culture media reagents and solutions; perform media sterilization and growth promotion/suitability testing
- Support microbial identification and related investigations
- Perform sterility endotoxin or other microbiological quality control testing as applicable
- Participate in method qualifications validations and transfers
- Operate clean and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Accurately document lab activities observations and results per established procedures
- Review analytical and microbiological data for accuracy and compliance
- Investigate and troubleshoot unexpected results test issues or equipment problems
- Support lab investigations deviations change controls and CAPAs
- Maintain lab cleanliness organization and contamination control
- Collaborate with Quality QC and Manufacturing teams
- Train and mentor newer laboratory staff as needed
- 3 years of hands-on microbiology lab experience ideally in a pharmaceutical biopharmaceutical veterinary pharmaceutical or other GMP-regulated setting
- Practical experience with microbiological testing in a QC lab
- Experience in one or more of: environmental monitoring microbial limits bioburden sterility testing endotoxin testing microbial identification or water testing
- Working knowledge of cGMP laboratory practices
- Understanding of quality systems including deviations investigations change controls and CAPAs
- Strong aseptic technique and contamination control awareness
- Accurate documentation skills and strong written/verbal communication
- Solid organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Degree in Microbiology Biology Biochemistry or a related field preferred (equivalent hands-on experience considered)
- GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences lab experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office is a plus
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Able to stand walk or sit for extended periods (8 hours/day)
- Able to work in a lab environment following safety and contamination-control procedures
