Summary:
The QC Technician II / QC Laboratory Technicianis responsible for performing fit-for-purpose analytical testing in support of manufacturing operations including in-process and finished product release testing. The role involves operating analytical instruments documenting results supporting investigations maintaining laboratory standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within a quality control environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform fit-for-purpose testing following established operating procedures to support manufacturing activities.
- Conduct in-process and finished product release testing using various analytical techniques.
- Prepare standards and samples for analysis.
- Operate analytical instrumentation with minimal supervision.
- Document and report analytical testing results in LIMS and laboratory notebooks following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Assist with Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations by conducting relevant testing and documenting findings.
- Recommend improvements to analytical instrumentation methods and provide feedback on other process optimization opportunities.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Analytical Chemistry Organic Chemistry Biochemistry Biology or a related scientific field from an accredited university.
- Minimum 2 years of industry or relevant laboratory experience preferably in the chemistry or bio/pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques basic analytical instruments and chromatography.
- Familiarity with analytical test methods and standards such as ACS USP/NF EP/BP JP and FCC.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience with LIMS databases and laboratory documentation practices.
- Understanding of laboratory notebook review and analytical testing procedures.
- Strong computer scientific and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean methods and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
