PTS Advance is seeking a QA/QC Supervisor for our Clients office in the Sacramento East Bay and South Bay Areas. This postion will lead the QA/QC Project Teams. Refinery experienced highly preferred. Min. 8 years of experience in Quality Control focused on ASME B31 piping codes industrial and commercial construction fabrication welding non-destructive testing and/or other similar fields.
- Location: Sacramento CA.
- Pay rate: $70-$75 hr. DOE
- Direct hire - Local candidates no relocation
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Hours: M-F start time 6:00 am and 7:00 am - 5/8s
- Start date: ASAP
Overiew:
- Supervises: Quality Control Inspectors
- Plans and conducts the analysis inspection design test and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Engage with the General Contractors Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning project compliance non-conformance management quality audits.
- Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
- Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities status and deadlines.
- Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
- Other duties may be assigned by the management team.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
- Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college ortechnical school; with 10 years of overall experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seeking at least 8 years of experience in Quality Control focused on ASME B31 piping codes industrial and commercial construction fabrication welding non-destructive testing and/or other similar fields.
- Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and /or ICC Mechanical - Commercial Certification preferred
- At least 3 years of experience leading and managing direct reports.
- Proficient understanding of ASME Section IX BP&V Code and experience creating and reviewing welding procedures and welder or brazer qualifications.
- Ability to read write and problem solve make quick decisions interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Excellent time management and written and spoken communication skills highly professional organized and trustworthy team player.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
