Purchasing Manager

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Purchasing Manager in Gainesville FL. This position is responsible for vendor selection negotiation establishment and maintenance of all purchased materials supplies equipment and services used by the company.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to)

• Negotiate with venders for goods and services
• Establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance
• Examine bids and make vendor recommendations
• Review product use and analyze purchase volumes
• Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor costs
• Work closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrived
• Resolve invoice discrepancies
• Trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure the vendors for critical supplies are qualified
• Review vendor agreements and hold vendors accountable for agreement terms
• Must have consistent reliable transportation
• Attendance is a requirement of this position
• Some travel may be required

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in business or related field
• Minimum of five years of supply chain/purchasing experience
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience
• Ability to supervise staff and delegate tasks effectively
• Ability to prepare concise and informative reports
• Ability to analyze think critically and make decisions consistent with regulatory guidelines
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Basic computer skills and experience with MS Office (work excel outlook and PowerPoint)
• Valid drivers license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth drivers eligibility requirements
• Experience in a not-for-profit setting preferred
