Location: Northwest Metro Minneapolis Area
Schedule: Full-Time 1st Shift

Salary:$60000-$70000

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer / Materials Planner to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring production has the materials supplies and outside services needed to meet customer demands while maintaining accurate inventory levels and efficient material flow.

The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing inventory control materials planning or supply chain operations within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Purchase consumable materials chemicals production supplies and outside services to support manufacturing operations
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock to meet production requirements
• Manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs and consigned inventory
• Coordinate material planning activities to ensure timely availability of production materials
• Receive and process incoming materials supplies and vendor shipments
• Enter receipts packing slips certifications and inventory transactions into the ERP system
• Monitor shelf-life and expiration dates for applicable materials and chemicals
• Perform cycle counts and assist with month-end and year-end physical inventories
• Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate inventory discrepancies
• Coordinate scrap recycling material returns and outside service transactions
• Work closely with Production Quality Engineering and Operations teams to support customer delivery requirements
• Maintain organized warehouse and inventory storage areas utilizing FIFO inventory practices
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety efficiency inventory accuracy and waste reduction
• Participate in Lean manufacturing and workplace organization activities

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in purchasing materials planning inventory control receiving or supply chain operations
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory transactions
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Excel
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of inventory control practices cycle counting and material planning concepts
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing FIFO inventory management or continuous improvement principles is a plus
