The Purchasing Intern supports multiple levels of procurement within our Global Procurement and Supply Chain (GPSC) teams.

*This position has a Spring/Summer 2027 start date.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

• Support commodity managers with negotiations supplier selection pricing forecasts and performance management including quarterly scorecard reviews and corrective actions.

• Learn how component pricing connects to standard cost EAC and broader financial decisions.

• Take ownership of certain suppliers and actively manage their pricing with mentorship.

• Visit suppliers to understand their manufacturing processes capabilities capacity and potential constraints.

• Work with tactical buyers to understand how purchased components flow into the manufacturing plant including work in SAP.

• Help coordinate part-number changes cut-ins and Bill of Material (BOM) updates.

• Manage EDI supplier-portal forecasts and coordinated communications to suppliers regarding forecast changes deadlines and updates.
  Identify and implement AI and digital tools that can improve purchasing-team efficiency.

• Learn how purchasing participates in new-product development from early concepts through sourcing and production.

• Administer RFQs by sending packages to suppliers collecting quotations and comparing pricing lead times and commercial terms.

• Maintain accurate pricing on purchase orders and component standard costs to align with finance and budgeting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Student working towards a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Business Operations Management Economics Logistics or related field.

• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.

• Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh WI for the Summer of 2027 (relocation assistance provided for those with a permanent address of greater than 50 miles from Oshkosh WI).

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

• GPA of 3.0 or greater

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently.

• Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
