Job Summary
Position Purpose:
The Purchasing Coordinators primary function is to provide front-line service to ATIs internal customers and vendors throughout the order process; purchase and coordinate materials as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process all purchase orders.
- Coordinate and process Return Materials Report with Quality Assurance.
- Coordinate special customer shipping requests for material..
- Monitor price changes and provide reporting.
- Monitor Engineering Change Order process as necessary for purchased items.
- Order supplies and materials per departmental request.
- Monitor MRP Exception Report and Purchase Order Status Report and communicate with internal departments to determine order status and on-time delivery.
- Manage Vendor/Item Cross Reference to update pricing.
- Manage inventories for Assembly CNC The Crib Tooling and the Warehouse.
- Communicate with external painters and other vendors regarding processing of jobs and coordinate plastic recycling.
- Provide purchasing reports.
- Follow and practice safety procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities to be assigned as needed.
Experience Qualifications and Skillset:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year purchasing and inventory control experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and customer service skills required.
- Ability to be tactful and clear in both verbal and written communication required.
- Experience in basic computer programs including Word Excel Outlook and Access; database experience desired.
- Ability to type a minimum of 30 WPM and sight-free 10-key.
- Read write and be conversant in the English language required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Usual office and production environment involves frequent sitting and occasional standing walking sitting climbing stooping kneeling crouching and balancing.
- Postures include sedentary positions walking standing and lifting.
- Occasionally lifts or carries up to 25 pounds and balances while working in a production environment.
- Frequent use of eye hand and finger coordination.
- Verbal and auditory capacity with or without assistance enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
- Visual capacity could include one or more of the following depth perception color vision and peripheral vision enabling operation of machinery.
- Ability to move from department and buildings to interact with others.
- Occasional travel by automobile.
