Compensation: Based on experience - ranging between $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
Location: Onsite in Costa Mesa California

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Control Specialist to manage the procurement inventory and receiving of parts and materials used in our marine operations. This position is responsible for maintaining stock levels issuing purchase orders coordinating with vendors tracking deliveries managing inventory accuracy and ensuring parts are available to support warehouse and service operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on purchasing experience strong inventory management skills experience working within an ERP system and intermediate Excel proficiency.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Purchasing & Vendor Management

• Create issue and manage purchase orders for inventory parts supplies and materials.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
• Track open purchase orders and follow up on backorders shortages and delivery delays.
• Verify pricing invoices and vendor documentation for accuracy.
• Resolve issues related to product quality pricing discrepancies shipping errors and delivery schedules.

• Inventory Control

• Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock quantities.
• Develop and maintain inventory replenishment and reordering procedures.
• Research inventory shortages overages and discrepancies.
• Conduct month-end inventory reconciliation and process approved inventory adjustments.
• Ensure inventory records remain accurate and up to date.
• Receive incoming inventory verify quantities inspect shipments and enter products into the system.

• System & Administrative Functions

• Maintain accurate product information within the P21 system including item setup stock levels descriptions and inventory settings.
• Process purchasing transactions and inventory entries within the accounting and ERP systems.
• Create inventory reports and analyze purchasing data.
• Assist management with special projects and operational initiatives as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of purchasing procurement inventory control supply chain or materials management experience.
• Experience creating and managing purchase orders and inventory replenishment.
• Experience working with vendors and suppliers.
• Experience managing inventory for a warehouse distribution manufacturing marine automotive industrial or similar environment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including formulas filtering sorting and inventory reporting.
• Experience using ERP inventory management or purchasing systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience purchasing parts equipment or materials rather than retail merchandise.
• Experience with Prophet 21 (P21) or similar ERP software.
• Experience in the marine manufacturing distribution RV automotive or industrial industries.
• Some college coursework in Business Supply Chain Accounting or related field.

Important Candidate Requirement

This position requires prior purchasing and inventory management experience. Experience limited to e-commerce order processing retail sales customer service warehouse receiving or online store management alone does not meet the purchasing experience requirement.
