IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide. Weare currently seeking aPurchasing Agentto join our team of skilled professionals based at our Bismarck Missouri plant.This plant produces granulesfrom raw materialfor ourvertically integrated shingle manufacturing operation.

Job Summary

ThePurchasing Agentwillmainly beresponsible for negotiating prices with vendors and contractors. This individual will also be working closely with various departments in the plant to ensure availability of equipment. This role will report directly to the plant manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzemarketsto assess present and future material availability anddeterminecost effective procurement strategies for the company.

  • Locate vendors of materialsequipmentor supplies and interview themtodetermineproduct availability and terms of sales

  • Implement purchasing and contract management instructions policies and procedures

  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipmentproductsor substitute materials

  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers

  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy

  • Administer on-linepurchasingsystems

  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials

  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received

  • Prepare and process requisitions andpurchaseorders for supplies servicesequipmentand raw materials

  • Ensure purchased items are deliveredtimelyand as specified on the purchase order

  • Represent company in negotiating with suppliers directly in person in writing or by telephone or e-mail

  • Support inventory control of finished goods

  • Work directly with Maintenance Manager andMaintenance Team to support maintenance activities and spare parts procurement

  • Support plant with HSE audit requirements including internal and external reporting

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelorsdegree in a purchasing-related field preferred or equivalent work experiencedemonstratingrelevant knowledge and skills.

  • Must have at least 5 years of working experience in a related role

  • Must have experience using ERP systems

  • Must have experience working in a manufacturing setting

  • Must be able to collaborate with multiple individuals or departments

  • Highly effective time management and task prioritization abilities

  • Strong organizational skills
