The mission of the Department of Children and Families is to work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable promote strong and economically self-sufficient families and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency. Ch.20.19 F.S.

PURCHASING MANAGEMENT

The Bureau of Purchasing Management provides product/service information and coordinates vendorassistancewith Department personnel. Purchasing requests are also reviewed to oversee thatpurchasingprocurement practices are efficient and cost effective and provide the best value to the State.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

New employees of the Department of Children and Families willbe requiredto passa National FBI Background check.

The Department of Children and Families ispaid foron a bi-weekly basis.

SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL:

Review and approve requisitions through MyFloridaMarketPlace(MFMP)for the purchase of goods and services.

Ensure purchases are complete accurate and in compliance withpolicies rulesregulationsand available contractsprior to processing.

Research and furnish internal customers with information concerningprices for needed supplies and services.

Provide assistance to staff to determine correct procurement methodssources and specifications.

Maintain possession of PCard and clear all charges within 3 days.

ABILITY TO:

Maintain effective working relations with others.

Determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

Work independently and be self-motivated.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Verify data for accuracy and completeness.

Use Microsoft Office products: Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position effectively processes procurement transactions and coordinates activities to meet business needs of the Department through purchasing strategies policies and include demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness byinterpreting and approving purchase transactions for proper coding contract utilization cost comparison support justification special routingrequirements and available market resources. Incumbent will promote improvement efficiency and effectiveness of procurement activities by providing guidance on procurement rule policy and procedure tocustomers. Incumbent will maintain and review computerized or manualrecords of items purchased in a concise descriptive cohesive and wellwritten manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent; and

One (1) year of administrative or clerical experience in a professional setting.

Preference will be given to applicants withadvanced knowledge of creating excel spreadsheets andan associates degree or higherfrom an accredited college or university.
