Job Summary
This position is accountable for maintaining stock integrity through purchasing and transferring beer and monitoring sales. The purchaser is responsible for managing the entire inventory of goods for resale by maintaining proper inventory amounts to meet sales goals while simultaneously monitoring stock levels of perishable items to control shrink.
Qualifications:
1 years industry experience or equivalent
Ability to work with computer programs associated with the performance of the position
Requires the ability to manage multiple projects with tight be a proactive self-starter and self-learner
Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
Must be able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in a professional manner
Requires excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player with the ability to work with a variety of people at all levels
Be able to communicate and effectively interact with Vendors
Up to date with current industry trends
Ability to generate inventory turns and product movement
Ability to ensure low out-of-stocks by monitoring stock levels forecasting effectively
Ability to review and analyze inventory
Ability to communicate new product information to team members
MS Office environment experience required e.g. Word Excel Outlook and Power Point)
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to work and make decisions independently
Excellent phone etiquette
Promote and maintain a positive professional environment. Adhere to dress code standards governing appearance
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests
Able to work with minimum supervision
Analytical and attention to detail to maintain precise standards
Job Duties
Maintains an up-to-date Task & Duty Processes notebook for this position to be utilized by backup personnel in case of extended or unexpected absences
Know our breweries pull date system and recognize out-of-code items
Purchase beer from breweries according to schedule
Check and maintain beer inventory daily
Purchase and sell beer from/to other distributors as necessary
Arrange transportation to and from the breweries
Consolidate our breweries loads to company warehouses on a weekly basis
Periodically check truck rates for cost reliability
Work with accounting to file claims with breweries and trucking companies as needed and follow up on credits received
Perform product costing of freight for new products
Prepare the monthly forecast
Prepare depletion reports for suppliers
Prepare the weekly code date report / out-of-stock
Attend a weekly staff meeting to review and discuss inventory issues with other departments
Communicate with the warehouse about incoming loads and other status
Track orders and make order changes when needed
Track forecasts to prevent any future problems
Assist Wichita Beer by arranging transportation for their weekly beer order and helping with close dates
Communicate with area sales managers concerning inventory problems such as date
Training seminars training films and in-house training will be provided as necessary to expand product knowledge and to improve performance
Keep up with product promotions incentives and price changes that may affect inventory of the product
Perform other duties as directed by management
Attend company meetings as requested
Follows company policies & procedures
Maintain open and clear communications with the managers and other employees of the company
Maintain forward thinking and bring positive feedback and ideas to the General Manager
Have a positive attitude about the company and all of your fellow employees when in discussions with others
