Turbine Pump & Compressor LLC (TPC) is a specialized industrial repair and field service company focused on turbomachinery and rotating equipment. We support refining chemical petrochemical and midstream customers across the Texas Gulf Coast with shop overhaul field service inspection and project management capabilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to join our shop team. The successful candidate will perform hands-on disassembly inspection repair and reassembly of industrial centrifugal API and positive displacement pumps along with related rotating equipment components in a fast-paced industrial repair environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Disassemble clean inspect and reassemble industrial pumps (centrifugal API multi-stage vertical and positive displacement)
- Measure and document critical clearances fits and dimensions using precision measuring tools
- Identify worn damaged or out-of-tolerance components (impellers wear rings shafts bearings seals) and recommend repair or replacement
- Perform bearing mechanical seal packing and shaft-related work to manufacturer and shop standards
- Support field service work as needed including on-site pump installation alignment support and troubleshooting
- Follow all safety procedures quality processes and documentation requirements
- Work closely with Project Managers shop leads and QA/QC to ensure quality and schedule adherence
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial pumps (shop or field)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings manuals and work scopes
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers dial indicators feeler gauges etc.)
- Familiarity with mechanical seals packing bearings and common pump failure modes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a shop environment
- Valid drivers license and ability to pass background check / drug screen
- Willingness to support occasional field work and overtime as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Goulds Worthington Flowserve Sulzer IMO or similar industrial pump brands
- Previous work in a rotating equipment repair shop or OEM service environment
- Familiarity with API pump standards and common refinery/chemical plant applications
- TWIC card or ability to obtain one
