Job Title: VMware/Network Engineer - Hybrid

Job Description:
As a VMware/Network Engineer you will be responsible for designing implementing administering and maintaining enterprise-wide network infrastructure to support critical systems and data operations. You will work with both physical and virtual environments to ensure high availability security and optimal performance of network systems. This role requires strong expertise in VMware technologies networking systems and infrastructure management along with the ability to collaborate across teams and handle complex technical challenges independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain network infrastructure including hardware and software components
- Administer and manage VMware environments including vSphere vCenter vSAN NSX and related tools
- Configure and support physical and virtual servers across multiple operating systems
- Manage core network services such as Active Directory DNS and DHCP
- Monitor system performance and perform optimization patch management and lifecycle planning
- Ensure reliability through backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support infrastructure needs
- Participate in planning and execution of infrastructure-related projects
- Maintain documentation for systems configurations and processes
- Respond to system outages or emergency issues including off-hours support when required
Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in VMware administration and networking systems administration
- Strong experience with VMware tools such as vSphere vCenter vSAN NSX VCF and Log Insight
- Experience managing physical and virtual server environments
- Proficiency with operating systems including Microsoft Windows Red Hat and Linux
- Experience designing implementing and maintaining complex IT systems
- Knowledge of system optimization patch management and lifecycle management
- Experience with Active Directory DHCP and DNS administration
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within team environments
- Willingness to provide support for critical issues outside regular working hours
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
