Through strategic public relations (PR) and social media communications enhance and protect the reputation of Cook MyoSite and each of its brands. This role supports market-facing corporate and product narrative development across HCP patient scientific/research and industry stakeholder audiences.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute integrated PR strategies to support the unique goals and needs for both divisions of the company.
Manage drafting and distribution of press releases media statements and external announcements.
Build and maintain relationships with relevant media outlets health and science journalists patient advocacy organizations
and life sciences industry contacts.
Manage proactive and reactive media inquiries and issues/crisis communications coordinating responses in accordance
with legal regulatory and MLR (Medical Legal Regulatory) review processes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for social media communications across the organization for all Cook MyoSite accounts ensuring messaging is aligned with brand strategy regulatory requirements and market-facing corporate narrative objectives.
Lead social media strategy and content calendar development across corporate and brand channels including any patient- HCP- or scientific/research-facing platforms as appropriate to each business division.
Monitor key metrics for PR (e.g. media mentions sentiment analyses share of voice message pull-through media coverage) and social media (e.g. engagements audience growth conversion rates) and report out on a regular cadence.
Partner with Cook MyoSite internal communications functions to ensure external market-facing communications and internal/employer-brand communications are coordinated and mutually consistent.
Establish and maintain connection to Cook Medical PR and external communications to ensure visibility of key efforts
and appropriate alignment.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism Marketing or a related field; or 5 years of direct relevant experience in a communications or public relations function providing a comparable background.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a public relations communications or social media management role with preference for experience in life sciences biotech pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
Experience managing external communications in a regulated environment (FDA pharma/biotech). Working knowledge of pharmaceutical promotional regulations (e.g. FDA OPDP) pre-approval communications constraints the distinction between promotional and non-promotional content and MLR (Medical Legal Regulatory) review workflows.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other general office equipment.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite.
Familiarity with CRM
Physical Requirements:
Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication.
Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include but not limited to evenings weekends extended work hours and/or extra work hours sometimes on short notice as required.
Ability to work under specific time constraints.
Must be able to sit at desk in meetings and/or work on a computer for long or extended periods of time.
Visual and manual acuity for working with computers and equipment.
Travel: 20-30%
