The purpose of the Public Information Coordinator I is to plan prepare edit and disseminate informational educational or marketing material on behalf of the agency through visual/digital media communications.


Responsibilities of the Public Information Coordinator I:

  • Plan coordinate and promote agency programs and activities through traditional and visual/digital media communications.
  • Take photos shoot videos and/or design graphics for agency communications activities and divisions.
  • Assist with writing and editing social media captions closed captions and other communications for various formats and mediums.
  • Assist with the creation of social media content calendars and social media content as well as scheduling social media postings.
  • Assist with the creation of shot sheets storyboards print layouts and concepts for graphics branding packages consistent with agency brand standards and in line with the communications strategy.
  • Conduct interviews research topics and gather information for use in various agency communications.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • May require some overnight travel and work beyond 37.5hour/week and could include nights evenings weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications

An associate or bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in public relations journalism journalism and mass communications public relations visual arts or related field of study with two years of work experience.
