What you will be doing:
As the Public Health Specialist 1 you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to develop and foster community partnerships through coalition work intended to improve outcomes and decrease disparities in chronic disease. Your duties will include coordinating and facilitating quarterly and annual meetings of work groups committees and leadership; documenting maintaining and recruiting coalition membership; maintaining coalition communication channels; and preparing coalition reports.

This position is part of our Anchorage-based Section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. The office is located at the Frontier Building 3601 C Street. We are situated with views of the Chugach Range Mt. Denali and the Cook Inlet. There is ample covered parking and a high level of building security. Currently the Division of Public Health supports hybrid telework schedules.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in public health health administration nursing epidemiology health sciences health education community health emergency medical services psychology the social sciences the biological sciences social work biostatistics/statistics education or a closely related field.
