Job Summary
The Public Funding Manager Enduring Earth (Manager) will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the Enduring Earth partnership by developing and coordinating plans and related tactics and overseeing day-to-day tasks related to public fundraising for PFPs.
As TNCs primary point of contact for publicfundraising effortsfor PFPs the Manager will coordinatewith communicatorsfundraisers relationship managersof PSEs external affairs staff and executive leaders across the organization to mobilizepublicresources for the PFP projects and thepublic fundingliaison on joint portfolio development and management the Manager will have substantial contact withcountryand regionalteamscounterparts in Philanthropy/Developmentandotherinternalstakeholders. They will serve on the Enduring Earth Resource Mobilization Committee and other partnership working groups. The PublicFundingManager will also serve on internal steering committees and working groups for individual TNC-led PFPs.
The Manager will work closely withthe Public Funding Center to align their work with the One Conservancy Public Fundraising Strategy while building close partnerships with publicfundraising teams within PFCin theregional business units in the global strategy teams and with partner organizations. They willfollow all policies and SOPs governingPSE engagement and will coordinate with relationship managersprior to any planned outreach to PSEs.
Withregional counterparts and relationship managersandin partnership with Philanthropy/Development staff focused on private fundraising for PFPsthey will analyzepublicfundraising feasibility and develop and support implementation of fundraising plans for each TNC-led PFP. ThePublic FundingManager will coordinate with TNC relationship managersto cultivate and solicit PSEs and will effectively coordinate the jointpublic fundingprospect portfoliofacilitatejoint strategy calls and develop follow-up materials. Theywillcoordinate development ofconcept notesgrant proposals andmay act as a lead or supporting writer for public funding proposals. Theywill provide coordination support to keep multiple projects movingin a timely manner meet deadlines and manage supplemental materialsrequiredfor proposals in consultation with budget and finance staff and other internal stakeholders. They willseekand synthesize information and communicate in a convincing and succinct form to all stakeholders. Theywill also participatein strategy and proposal development in collaboration with internal departments and teams to meet specific goals and FundingManagershall use BBCRM andwillsupport the management and maintenanceofPFPpublic fundingpipeline dataand prioritized funding proposal support requests as well as trackprojected or committed will collaboratewith TNCs publicgrants specialiststobuild proposal budgets based on a strong understanding of organizational budgeting.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Manage and serve as teamleadon assigned public funding proposals and projects for PFPs.
- Coordinateteams across TNC to support public fundraising forTNC-ledPFPs.
- Act independently exercise sound judgment to identify and solve complex problems. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by directives of superiors. At the same excel at serving as a collaborator liaison and resource for multiple internal stakeholder groups.
- Design and manage multiple projects managing budget setting deadlines and ensuring accountability.
- Evaluate teamresults and develop recommendations for corrective strategies as needed.
- Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.
- Align initiatives to ensure department and organization-wide goals and strategies are achieved.
- Ensure programmatic commitments TNC policies and procedures and financial standards are met and managed for compliance.
- Resolvecomplex issues independently within assigned public funding proposals and projectsfor PFPs.
- Financial responsibilities include budget planning and assisting with monitoring and administration of a budget.
- Minimize legal risk to the Conservancy and ensure legal compliance with applicable state and local regulation.
- Potential for travel (up to 20% time) at times on short notice and long or flexible working hours.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

We are tackling climate change conserving lands waters and oceans at unprecedented scale providing food and water sustainably and helping make cities more sustainable. To implement these priorities we collaborate actively in a non-confrontational manner with public sector agencies NGOs academia business and the finance sector.
- Bachelors degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience leading and implementing multiple public funding proposals and projects.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements.
- Experience with current and evolving technology in public fundraising e.g. Microsoft and Google applications (Word processing Excel) CRM systems etc.
- Experience working with teams across organizations.
- Experience coursework or other training in principles and practices of public fundraising and/or conservation.
This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity (taking into consideration legal restrictions such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times) within the regions of Africa Asia Pacific the Caribbean or Latin America. For U.S. based applicants only the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $83000 to $132000 for annual base salary and is based on location qualifications specific skills and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants pay ranges will be in local currency the pay range will be based on the local labor market and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally for all applicants actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including for example the candidates qualifications specific skills and experience.
