Job Summary

Position Summary
This position assists the 911 Emergency Communications Center Manager with the direction management and daily operations of the 911 Emergency Communications Center. The position assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Center Manager during their absence and provides supervision and leadership to 911 staff. The position is responsible for developing and delivering training to ensure compliance with applicable rules regulations policies and procedures. The position oversees the Centers Quality Assurance Program and supports compliance with standards established by CALEA (The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies). The position recruits trains mentors counsels and evaluates staff and assists with staffing and operational needs within the 911 Center. The position is required to perform the duties of a 911 Telecommunicator as needed and serves as the departments Assistant Terminal Agency Coordinator for the Division of Criminal Information Network. Strongly preferred qualifications include demonstrated ability to effectively manage lead and make sound decisions during emergencies and other high-stress situations; experience hiring and training 911 Telecommunicators conducting performance evaluations and reviewing or approving employee time records; and the ability and willingness to participate in an assigned on-call rotation normally two weeks per month although the schedule may vary based on operational needs. The position also requires proficiency in operating computers and related office support software and hardware calculators telephones mobile phones laptop computers copy machines printers 911 operator consoles portable radios mobile and base station radios and other general office equipment with reasonable speed and accuracy. The position may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation including during high-stress and high-volume emergency situations.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday / 9am 5pm (subject to change)
