PT Staff Assistant Coach-Cross CountryTrack and Field

The Assistant Cross Country & Track Coach serves as a key member of the Department of Athletics and assists the Head Coach in all aspects of operating successful NCAA Division II programs in mens cross country womens cross country and womens outdoor track. Responsibilities include recruiting player development academic monitoring game preparation practice planning scouting compliance and administrative duties while supporting the mission and values of the institution and the athletic department.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of the programs.
• Conduct individual and group skill development workouts.
• Assistwith practice planning film breakdown andeventpreparation.
• Support recruiting effortsin accordance withNCAA Division II rules and regulations.
• Monitor and encourage academic success personal growth and student-athlete accountability.
• Assistwith team travel coordination equipment management and operational needs.
• Drive university-issued vehicles for team travel recruiting activities camps and other program-related responsibilities while adhering to all university transportation policies.
• Assistwith organizing camps clinics community outreach events and fundraising initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of andcomply withNCAA conference and institutional policies and procedures.
• Serve as a positive representative of the university and department.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelors degreefrom an accredited college or university.
• Previousparticipationexperience at the collegiate high school oranothercompetitive level.
• Valid drivers license with the ability to be approved tooperateuniversity-issued vehicles.
• Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings weekends holidays and travel asrequired.
• Commitment to student-athlete development academic achievement and program culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate coaching operations or participationexperience.
• Experience withathletedevelopment and skill instruction.
• Recruiting experience and knowledge of NCAA Division II regulations.
• Strength and conditioning experience or background in athletic performance training.

Physical Demands

The work environment is an athletic and office setting which requires the ability to travel much of the time work long hours including evenings and weekends be physically active able to lift up to 50 pounds and have the ability to demonstrate specific skills. Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
