To provide fast easy flexible and friendly service to our customers through the achievement of Food Lion customer service standards. To be friendly courteous and cooperative with other store associates. Responsible for assisting the Customer Service Manager and the Assistant Customer Service Manager in maintaining standards according to Front End Standard Practices maximizing sales through exellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt accurate and friendly service
• Great each customer and assist customers on how to use self-checkouts properly
• Respond timely to notifications and monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper usage and accurate scanning
• Remind customers of items located at the bottom of the cart
• When needed assist with scanning complete voids age restricted item verification and any other SCO assist functions in accordance to Front End Standard Practice.
• Avoid personal conversation with other associates when customers are present
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed engage and identify self-checkout customers needing assistance
• Wear the Food Lion uniform complete with name badge when on duty have a clean and nice appearance while adhereing to Food Lion dresscode.
• Collect and return shopping carts fron the SCO area ensure the SCO area has a neat and clean prsentation.
• Report any self-checkout issues to Customer Service Manager or MOD

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use computers smart devices including SCO mobile attendant and other communication systems required to perform job duties.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions
• Bend and lift products weighing 15lbs. continuously 25 lbs. frequently and 50lbs. on ocassion
• Pull or push 75 lbs. on occasion
• Stand 100% of the time frequently walking short distances
• Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials fresh fruits vegetables house plants/flowers and household cleaners
• Use hands frequently/continuously to operate a variety of equipment
• Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level occasionally above shoulder or below waist level
• Tolerate working in the extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
• Have a sufficient visual ability to check ID cards checks invoices and any other mobile handheld devices

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple task and technical requirements of the job
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
