Job Summary:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer serves as a key member of the Department of Athletics. Responsibilities include providing Athletic Training services to those who require these services and to be available for rehabilitation services at the Athletic Training Clinic. Additional administrative and athletic training services as mutually agreed upon by the employee Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Athletics.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the daily health care of student athletes and athletic training room.
- Record and maintain appropriate medical records.
- Record and maintain appropriate inventory and supplies.
- Assist members of the athletic training staff in screening and referring injured/ill student athletes to team physicians.
- Serve as a positive representative of the university and department.

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors degree in athletic training sports medicine or related field or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid drivers license with the ability to be approved to operate university-issued vehicles.
- Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings weekends holidays and travel as required.
- Commitment to student-athlete development academic achievement and program culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an NCAA Athletic Setting
- Experience with electronic medical records.
Certificates Licenses or Registrations
- CPR First Aid and AED certification required upon hire.

Physical Demands
The work environment is an athletic and office setting which requires the ability to travel much of the time (including international travel) work long hours including evenings and weekends be physically active able to lift up to 50 pounds and have the ability to demonstrate specific skills. Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
