Job Summary
The instructor will teach a combination of Computer-Aided Drafting & Design lecture/lab classes each week along with developing teaching and testing materials for classes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Teach courses offered in the Computer-Aided Drafting & Design programs as needed by semester
  • Recommend textbooks and instructional materials
  • Stay current with trends and innovations in the field
  • Maintain student academic records
  • Use LMS (Learning Management System) appropriately for the course
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment in the classrooms and labs including student safety and equipment safety.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design or related field
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with CAD software including AutoCAD Inventor Civil 3D Revit AutoCAD Architecture 3ds Max and/or Intergraph CADW orx

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Teaching experience in a post-secondary setting
  • Autodesk Certified Professional

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Typical office
  • Business Hours
  • M-Th 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.
    • summer M-Th 7:30 a.m. 5:30 pm
  • Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g. open enrollment payroll)
  • Occasional travel (less than 10%)

Physical Demands

  • Requires lifting/moving of equipment in excess of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to sit or stand for a long periods of time
  • Use of manual dexterity
