Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum of a Masters Degree in education with SDE certification in psychometry
  2. Must meet the requirements of the licensing agency
  3. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the School Board

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services

JOB GOALS: To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from school by assessment inaccordance with MDE local state and federal requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Such duties as may be assigned including but not limited to the following:

  1. Meets all professional conduct standards as set byMS Educator Code of EthicsStandards of Conduct
  2. Reviews all MTSS interventions to determine appropriate testing instruments based on student strengths and weaknesses
  3. Conducts initial assessments of SPED referrals and completes reports with all components within the state mandated time frame
  4. Reviews all eligibility folders prior to eligibility meetings
  5. Participates in parent meetings as required and as part of referral and/or eligibility meetings
  6. Participates in reevaluation meetings as required and as part of referral and/or eligibility meetings
  7. Maintains test protocols and testing materials in accordance with state mandates
  8. Organizes with gifted contact the Gifted Screenings at the school sites
  9. Conducts initial assessments for eligibility in the gifted program as mandated by board policy
  10. Writes reports on any assessments conducted
  11. Conducts initial assessments for homeschool students as mandated by board policy
  12. Conducts initial and reevaluation testing as required
  13. Keeps an open line of communication with the parents or guardians teachers principals and director
  14. Participates in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of development
  15. Follows the District Instructional Management Plan including the Multi-Tiered System of Supports
  16. Participates in professional growth activities monitored through theMS Professional Growth System
  17. Follows all board policies and procedures
  18. Maintains regular attendance and is punctual
  19. Promotes the districts vision mission and goals
  20. Performs any other duties as outlined by the Director of Special Services
