Psychiatric Technician - Full-Time

Annual Salary: $40091

Shift Differential: $2.50/hour for evenings overnights and weekends

Available Schedules:

• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with rotating weekends
• 9:30 am - 6:00 pm with rotating weekends
• 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm with rotating weekends
• 11:00 pm - 7:30 am with rotating weekends

Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can make a direct impact on the lives of others The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Psychiatric Technician to join the team at the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center.

In this role youll provide direct care support and supervision to adults experiencing serious mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders. Youll work closely with an interdisciplinary team to create a safe supportive environment that promotes stability independence and recovery.

Minimum qualifications:

• One year of direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
• CNA preferred.

As a Psychiatric Technician you will:

• Provide direct care support and supervision to clients in an intensive short-term residential setting.
• Monitor client behavior needs and progress and accurately document observations and services provided.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support treatment goals and coordinated care.
• Facilitate individual and group activities focused on independent living skills personal development and leisure.
• Encourage clients to develop skills that promote greater independence and wellness.
• Assist with household duties and maintaining a clean safe and supportive environment.
• Help maintain the health safety dignity and civil rights of clients/families.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional needs and situations that may arise.
• Establish positive respectful relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Follow agency policies procedures and safety standards.
