Job Summary

Outpatient Mental Health Centers provide comprehensive individualized mental health services for children adolescents adults and older adults experiencing emotional behavioral or psychiatric challenges.

What to expect:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct psychiatric services through evaluation diagnosis and treatment including prescribing and managing medications. Patients are typically seen in an outpatient clinic setting for initial assessments follow-up appointments medication management and going psychiatric care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plays a key role in supporting patient wellness recovery and long-term treatment goals.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations diagnoses and treatment planning for child adolescents adults and older adults.

  • Prescribe monitor and manage psychotropic medications assessing effectiveness and potential side effects.

  • Conduct follow-up appointments to evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.

  • Collaborate with therapists primary care providers families and other members of the treatment team to ensure coordinated patient-centered care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment options medications and strategies to support recovery.
  • Provide crisis assessment and intervention as appropriate within the outpatient setting.
  • Order and interpret relevant laboratory tests and diagnostic studies related to psychiatric treatment.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings case consultations quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development activities.

    What we need from you:

    • Active Maryland Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license and Maryland Controlled Substances Registration with valid DEA Certificate.

    • Minimum two years of experience preferred including training and practical experience with acute psychiatric patients.

    • Expertise in psychotropic medications and comprehensive knowledge of mental health treatment.

    The pay range for this position is $67500 minimum to $92500 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to board certifications and years and level of related experience.
