Cherry Bekaert is partnering with a well-established growth-oriented real estate firm to identify a Property Accountant to join its expanding accounting team.

Position Overview:

The Property Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets including retail and mixed-use properties. This role offers a mix of month-end close financial reporting and operational accounting with visibility into property performance and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned property portfolio
• Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
• Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Coordinate with property management teams on operating results CAM reconciliations and tenant activity
• Assist with audit requests and year-end close activities
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls

Qualifications

• 210 years of accounting experience preferably within commercial real estate or property management
• Bachelors degree in Accounting (or related field)
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus not required
• Experience with property accounting concepts (CAM reconciliations lease accounting etc.) preferred
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/property management systems (e.g. Yardi MRI or similar)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
