Job Description

We currently have an opportunity on our Projects and Fixed Assets Accounting team. This teamis responsible forthe accounting and financial reporting of the Companys projects and fixed assets including providing capital and operations and maintenance determinations to internal customers.

This role is well-suited for an accounting professional who is comfortable working with modern financial systems and evolving technology and who brings a continuous improvement mindset. Successful candidatesdemonstratecuriosity adaptability and a proactive approach toidentifyingopportunities to improve processes increase efficiency and enhance data quality while supporting accounting reporting and business needs in a changing systems environment.

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to learn new systems quickly leverage technology and data effectively and contribute to process improvements that strengthen controls streamline workflows and supporttimelyaccuratefinancial information.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and review monthly close entries account reconciliations and financial analyses to ensureaccurateandtimelyreporting.
  • Analyze accounting transactionsidentifyissues research applicable guidance and recommendappropriate resolutions.
  • Support compliance with GAAP regulatory requirements internal controls and SOX procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal customers auditors regulators and cross functional teams to support business and reporting needs.
  • Contribute to process improvements efficiencies and documentation across accounting activities.
  • Support the modernization of accounting processes and data through financial systems and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Support the transition of accounting processes and data from legacy systems to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform ensuring accuracy integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist with ERP configuration testing andimplementationactivities related to projects fixed assets and related accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Information Technology and business partners to map current processes to ERP functionality andidentifyprocess improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support data conversion reconciliation internal controls and SOX compliance activities associated with ERP implementation and ongoing system enhancements.
                    Requirements:
                    Accounting Analyst II:
                    • Bachelorsdegree in accounting finance economics accounting general business taxstatisticsor a related field isrequired.
                    • 2 years of accounting experience.
                    • Comprehensive knowledge of theory andgeneral practicesofsubjectarea.
                    • Demonstrated advance understanding of the accounting field and good understanding of the companys business processes and operations.
                          Hiring Range: $68027 to $87754; ML 7
                          Accounting Analyst III includes the requirements for II plus:
                          • 5 years of accounting experience.
                          • Considerable knowledge of the theory and practices of related accounting field.
                          • Demonstrated depth of technical competency indicating mastery of the theory and practice of the subject area.
                          • Demonstrated knowledge and big picture understanding of major business processes and operations.
                                Hiring Range: $88336 to $114838; ML 9
                                Senior Accounting Analyst includes the requirements for II and III plus:
                                • 8 years of progressive responsibility in accounting.
                                • Requires the capacity to work with peers external auditors and management.
                                • Considerable knowledge ofgenerally acceptedaccounting principles internalcontrolsand regulatory rules/regulations isrequired.
                                • Demonstrate effective and flexible verbal and written communication skillsteamworkand interpersonal skills.
                                • Demonstrated advanced level of technicalexpertiseandIndependentdecision making.
                                • Demonstrated initiativeownershipand accountability.
                                • Demonstrated informal leadership preferred.
                                • CPA preferred.
                                • Masters in accounting finance economics general business tax or statistics preferred.
                                                Hiring Range: $100378 to $131496; ML 10

                                                Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

                                                Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate willbe requiredto work at our Spokane Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays withadditionalday(s)determinedby the manager.
