Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Construction Manager to be based in Los Angeles CA

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. 
  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers enforces company and project policies and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface. 
  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.
  • Collaborates and communicates with a broad community of stakeholders.
  • Assists Client with delivery method selection procurement contract planning and administration.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with the design team from design and through construction including collaboration with users and stakeholders to translate their requirements.
  • Represents the Client in day-to-day project activities to ensure work is accomplished safely aligned with project goals and criteria and within budget and schedule and on time.
  • Resolves complex project related issues disputes and disagreements
  • Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including project schedules cost control quality management and control.
  • Manages the plan check and permit process and construction phase inspections.
  • Reviews status and monitors variances of the project management information system relative to scheduling cost control and other project metrics and provide project reporting
  • Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple projects
  • Supports Program Management business development and proposal efforts as needed.
  • Manage project teams and staff

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in engineering construction management architecture or similar related field preferred and 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 years of experience managing capital programs and projects including building/facilities planning team procurement design construction contract administration cost scheduling and reporting
  • 5 years of experience with healthcare government and/or education facilities design planning and construction
  • Alternative delivery project experience including Progressive Design Build
  • California public contracting labor agreements prevailing wage / DIR DSA HCAI experience
  • Additional courses and training in business administration public relations accounting school finance personnel management educational facilities planning and communication

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
  • A valid Project Management Professional certification by the Project Management Institute
  • LEED Professional Accreditation
