Project Manager Intelligent Transport Systems Construction

Location: East Coast (NH NJ NY MD DC CT DE RI)
Salary: $120000 to $130000 per year
Travel: Extensive regional travel required (East Coast)

About the Role:

ISR Transport is supporting the appointment of a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of roadside Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) infrastructure projects.

This position is focused on coordinating construction activities associated with automated traffic enforcement and roadside technology deployments acting as the operational link between internal stakeholders municipalities and third-party contractors.

The role will suit an experienced Project Manager who understands highway infrastructure contractor management and municipal approvals and who can keep multiple deployment projects progressing while maintaining compliance quality and budget control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of roadside ITS construction activities from project initiation through to operational handover.
• Coordinate third-party contractors utility providers and specialist vendors to ensure work is completed safely on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.
• Review construction drawings and technical documentation resolving constructability issues before and during deployment.
• Monitor project schedules budgets risks and deliverables across multiple active projects.
• Coordinate permitting inspections DOT approvals and municipal compliance documentation.
• Act as the primary operational contact between contractors municipalities and internal project teams.
• Maintain accurate project records reporting progress risks and budget performance to senior leadership.
• Conduct site visits to verify deployment readiness and ensure all infrastructure prerequisites have been completed.

Skills Experience & Qualifications:

• At least five years experience managing construction infrastructure or ITS deployment projects.
• Experience coordinating third-party contractors within highway transportation or municipal infrastructure environments.
• Good understanding of roadside construction permitting processes and utility coordination.
• Experience managing budgets project schedules and contractor performance.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings technical documentation and deployment plans.
• Familiarity with Intelligent Transport Systems automated traffic enforcement roadside communications or transportation technology projects.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working alongside municipalities DOT agencies and external vendors.
• PMP certification is desirable.
• Experience supporting compliance-driven infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
