Job Summary

Position Overview

Responsible for managing the Early Stage (ES) process for High Voltage Transmission and Substation projects. The ES Project Manager (PM) coordinates and supports Engineering Estimating Supply Chain and Construction resources through the pre-construction (Early Stage) activities for Transmission and Substation projects within the Engineering and Construction (E&C) Business Unit.

The role leads the development of project scope budget schedule procurement engineering permitting and land activities to ensure projects are execution-ready with defined construction plans risks and mitigation strategies.

Duties include the critical coordination of project activities such as Budget Schedule Procurement Engineering Permitting and Land. The ES Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that each project is ready to be turned over to the Construction Project Manager with an executable construction plan including schedule budget permits risks and mitigation plans.

This position is not responsible for site-based construction management.

The current portfolio of projects spans the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of project plans with a focus on execution cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including Development Land Environmental Legal Regulatory Procurement (ISC) Engineering and Operations.
  • Manage integration across project scope schedule and budget.
  • Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) packages to competitively source engineering survey geotechnical LiDAR and construction services.
  • Support Estimating with detailed project scope and assumptions for financial models.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide progress issue and risk updates to management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Experience managing projects valued at more than $100 million.
  • Strong project management communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage project scope schedule and cost.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Transmission and substation project experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and action-oriented mindset.
